Such a beautiful love song between Solomon and his bride! It reads as a play and is a beautiful reflection not only of marital bliss but, more importantly, of the passionate love God has for His bride, which is His people, the church. If you want a clear description of how God loves you, read Song of Solomon! It is a mystery indeed, but one that God wants us to know.

Important quotes/reflections:

"I am dark, but I am lovely." Jesus loves us despite the fact that we have been tarnished by sin; it does not change His love for us at all.

"Do not awaken love until it pleases." For love to be enjoyed as God intended, it must be in His timing.

"Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away, for the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the sound of turtle doves is heard in the land." When we are united with the Lord in heaven, this "winter" of our journey on Earth will be over, and the spring of eternity will begin!

"In the secret places of the cliff, let me see your face, and let me hear your voice." The Lord wants us to talk to Him face to face.

"Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the grapes." The Lord wants to take away the little worries that spoil our relationship with Him and distract us.

"My beloved is mine and I am His." We belong to the Lord, and He belongs to us!

"My beloved is... chief among ten thousand... He is altogether lovely." There is no one like Jesus, the perfect Lover.

"Who is this coming up from the wilderness leaning on her beloved?" The Lord leads us into wilderness seasons on purpose, so that we may come out leaning on Him!

"Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm. For love is as strong as death, jealousy as cruel as the grave... Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly despised." Wow!

"You who dwell in the gardens, your companions listen for your voice. Let me hear it!" The Lord longs to hear your voice.

"Make haste, my beloved, and be like a young stag on the mountains of spices!" Come, Lord Jesus!

And so many more!
